Assoc. Prof. Dolores Grmača, Ph.D. (Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb), a collaborator on the FEMIGLA project, visited Paris during the second week of November to conduct research at the French National Library (Bibliothèque nationale de France – BNF).
Examining the sources and literature on the topic of the Miracles of the Virgin Mary – a genre that is widely found in Glagolitic literature and has French origins – was the main goal of the research.
The French National Library is home to the famous Croatian Glagolitic Paris Miscellany (1375) and the Croatian Glagolitic Parisian Songbook (1380). This was also a unique opportunity to bring attention to these two remarkable monuments, particularly the first, which was created for a community of nuns in Šibenik.
