Vukovar City Library hosts exhibition „Showing their true colours…“

After being presented at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb, the Dubec Library, and the Božidar Adžija Library, the FEMIGLA project exhibition Showing their true colours – female figures on miniatures in the medieval Croatian Glagolitic manuscripts (Croatian: Premazane svim mastima: ženski likovi na srednjovjekovnim sitnoslikama u glagoljskim rukopisima) left Zagreb and arrived at the Vukovar City Library (Trg Republike Hrvatske 4/1, Vukovar) ahead of the International Women’s Day.

The exhibition will be on display in Vukovar until the end of March 2026.

Students Ana Leko and Dario Narančić, two of the exhibition’s ten authors, attended the opening on Wednesday, March 4 in Vukovar while full professor Sanja Cvetnić, PhD and Ana Šimić, PhD delivered lectures regarding women in Croatian Glagolitic illuminations and texts.

We are grateful to Ms. Anita Baier Jakovac and Ms. Vlatka Surma Szabo from Vukovar City Library for their hospitality and interest in the project and exhibition.
